The Job
Balcatta SHS is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated English as Additional Language Dialect (EAL/D) Teacher to join their team. The successful applicant should possess experience teaching EAL/D and a strong understanding of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and WA curriculum.
As the school's EAL/D leader, you would be responsible for implementing a whole-school EAL/D direction. Successful candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate closely with school leadership, teachers and education assistants to ensure teaching and learning adjustments for EAL/D students.
The successful candidate should have the ability to utilize contemporary, evidence-based practices related to EAL/D students. Knowledge and application of EAL/D Progress Map is essential.
As an EAL/D Teacher, you would maximize student's potential and acknowledge individual students' needs and differences. You would also tailor and facilitate learning support programs to meet individual students.
A large portion of this role requires exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize, keep accurate records and the ability to analyze data to inform planning and practice that improves outcomes for students.
The successful applicant for this position should display knowledge and skills in the following:
* Supporting the improvement of literacy and numeracy outcomes of students with EAL/D needs through suitable intervention and differentiation strategies.
* Liaison with external agencies and support to ensure planning for EAL/D students is comprehensive.
* Managing and ensuring compliance with the Census.
* Compliance with schools' data recording requirements and processes, including School Curriculum and Authority Standard requirements and enrolments.
This position will include a teaching component in alignment with the successful applicant's skill set and the needs of the school.

Educational Background
To work with us, you must:
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
