Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician in Anatomical Pathology (Grade 1)
Location: Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne (On-Site)
Employment Type: Casual - up to 40 Hours per week and having flexibility to work shifts between 6:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary range: $29.96 to $38.64 depending on experience (+25% applicable casual loading) + salary packaging + super

About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grade 1 Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Anatomical Pathology team. This role plays an important part in supporting patient diagnosis through the preparation of human tissue samples for histological examination. You will use a broad range of routine histology techniques, including:
* Embedding
* Microtomy
* Handout
* Assisting in the Cut-Up Room
* Special staining techniques
* Block & Slide Filing and Archiving
Experience in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and cytology preparation would be highly regarded but is not essential.
About you
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Anatomical Pathology Technician who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in doing things properly. You'll be someone who is organised, practical, and pays attention to detail, understanding that your work plays an important role in patient care. You're comfortable following procedures, keen to learn, and happy to support colleagues in a busy hospital laboratory environment. Most importantly, you value safety, quality, and respect, and you want to contribute to a positive, supportive public health service.
