Our "Why"
Recovery Station exists to empower people to live a quality life. We believe in creating the ideal work environment for you because when you are happy, healthy, well-skilled and fulfilled, you're in the best position to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of everyone around you.
Key Traits of Recovery Station:
* We love what we do because everyone's role contributes to helping our clients live a more independent, empowered life
* Collaborating with passionate, likeminded colleagues creates connection and facilitates personal and professional growth
* Keeping personalised care at the heart of what we do challenges us to seek new and innovative ways to deliver life-changing service
Joining Recovery Station means aligning with a company that believes in empowering you and your future.
The Role
As a community- based team, we predominantly see our clients in their homes, group homes, aged care facilities or in a public setting that's relevant for them eg out and about testing a new wheelchair. We want to see our clients where they are most comfortable and that's relevant to their goals.
Some of our team schedule a full day of seeing 3 or 4 clients one day, then balance this the next by working from home or having an office day to write reports, prepare resources, have supervision / training. Or you can mix things up and split your day depending how you like to work
A community role is great as it allows you to have genuine flexibility and control over how you structure your days and therefore you don't miss your afternoon sport or being able to drop the kids to school in the mornings / pick them up in the afternoons
Depending where you are living, we'll tailor your caseload to service clients close to home. Your personalised admin support team will work with you to ensure you aren't zigzagging around the Coast and you'll have clients to see close to you.
You could join us either full-time or part-time and we have an office in Erina for you to use as a home base from which to see clients and your colleagues.
You will be taught how to confidently:
* Service a predominantly adult, NDIS & DVA caseload (12 yrs old and up)
* Support clients with a range of tasks such as life skills - budgeting/shopping/travel/ cooking, pressure care, sensory, cognitive re-training, prescribing equipment and assistive tech, upper limb + fine & gross motor therapy plus home assessments and modifications (initially minor and you can receive more training in complex mods)
* Comprehensive assessment and reporting eg initials, functional capacity, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) or Activities of Daily Living (ADL) & SIL or ILO
* We see clients with lifelong disabilities, neurological conditions (MND, MS, Parkinsons, Stroke), TBI/ABI, Autism/ASD, amputations, deaf or vision impairments and more so you will have variety in your caseload
If you have a foundation in residential aged care, paediatrics or hospital work and are curious about making the move to an adult, community caseload - reach out and let us know as we have a supportive team that is happy to help you make the transition.
Qualifications
* Approved qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
* Current driver's license with use of own vehicle
How We Make an Impact
Recovery Station provides community and clinic based allied health services, with a strong focus on disability and senior health. For 20 years we have consistently grown and now proudly offer services nationally via telepractice and in the community across Sydney, the Hunter, Central Coast, Illawarra and Melbourne.
Together, our passionate, multidisciplinary team of OTs, Mental Health OT's, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants collaboratively share their knowledge and experience to holistically design an individualised service to help improve the quality of life for people living with a disability or looking to age as independently as possible.
How We Foster a Positive Team
We strive to provide an environment that allows you to bring what makes you unique and special to work every day.
* We value flexibility so you can fit us in around your personal life eg family, sport, volunteering or another part-time role.
* Remuneration that matches your experience plus the option to stretch for RDO's and financial bonuses if you choose
* We trust you to work from home, or in the office, via telehealth and we give you a laptop and pay a phone/ data allowance to support this
* A member of our administrative team will assist you with scheduling your appointments efficiently to minimise travel, to make calls and take messages for you whilst you're in sessions and to assist with the maintenance of compliance documentation, such as setting up and adjusting funding plans
* Travel is reimbursed at $0.99/km + tolls and parking at appointments
* Novated leasing options
* Ability to transfer between offices if you move one day
* Discounted Health Insurance for you and your family plus other everyday savings on your Energy Bill, online shopping, groceries and more
* An Employee Assistance Program is available to provide external, confidential support
* To bring us together as a team, we have a fun wellbeing program that involves monthly social events. Previously we've gone to mini golf, ten pin bowling, wheelchair basketball, made dumplings, candles and gingerbread houses, painted and celebrated important dates such as International Women's Day and mental health month and much more
Professional development:
* Your thorough Orientation will be supported by ongoing one on ones with your Supervisor to discuss your goals with an personalised CPD plan. We'll help you set your learning goals and plan what you'd like to upskill in. For example, would you like to learn more about Mods, AT, Mental Health, Driving Assessments or take on a leadership role?
* These will be complimented with monthly inservices with your fellow OT's so you can learn from external presenters, share ideas, resources and stay abreast of any industry updates
* We love facilitating development pathways for clinicians seeking career progression and added responsibility via either supervising students/ grads/ junior staff, increased complexity of caseload or involvement in management procedures depending on what avenue you'd like to explore
* Two paid CPDdays per annum to be used towards training of your choice
* Formal and informal liaison opportunities with other members of our MDT to broaden your clinical knowledge and provide holistic care to our clients
* Companywide annual training day for the entire business (circa 130) to come together to learn from a group keynote plus external presenters tailored each discipline
