Position Overview
The successful applicant will be a trained and experienced specialist in rehabilitation medicine. Responsibilities include providing expert medical care for admitted patients and outpatient clinics, particularly within the Intellectual Disability Health Service.
The Intellectual Disability Health Service is a new initiative aimed at delivering best-practice care to patients with diagnosed or suspected intellectual disabilities and complex health needs, referred by General Practitioners. Based at Westmead Hospital, the service offers care coordination and short-term therapeutic interventions. The team works during business hours and conducts face-to-face clinic appointments. GPs are responsible for ongoing evaluation and care management.
Contract Details
This is a fixed-term appointment for 3 years.
Selection Criteria
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) or equivalent; Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
