The Company To start ASAP, full time permanent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Financial Accountant to work with a successful and market leading Manufacturing business with a national footprint, based 100% at their SE suburbs office. Providing niche/specialized and bespoke products to a diverse Industry base, the company’s continued growth has been attributed by recent acquisitions and delivering premium niche products to its large customer base. The Role Joining a Finance team of around 12 people, and reporting directly to an impactful Financial Controller and Snr Financial Accountant, you will perform an integral and highly visible, hands-on role which is integral to the team’s finance function. This role is suitable for someone who likes some diversity, working across a range of the main Financial Accounting functions with a number of internal stakeholders and act as an important conduit within the team. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines who likes working autonomously. Primary duties will comprise of: Month/year end reporting Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and reporting timelines Cash Flows P/L General Ledger recs Balance Sheet recs Daily sales reporting Payroll recs FBT BAS Bank Recs Assist with Stock/Inventory Management Rebates, Royalties and Commissions calculations on GL Journals Approval of FX payments Accruals Prepayments Guide and assist AP AR team where required. Liaise with Payroll re unreconciled balances in the general ledger. Other ad hoc tasks – as required by the FC and Snr Financial Accountant About You With a strong foundation of general accounting skills, you will have experience working in a similar role as an Accountant from a small, medium business with minimum of 3-5 years’ experience. The successful candidate could be part or full CPA/CA qualified and come from a Manufacturing/Wholesale/FMCG or Distribution background, where you have had exposure to Accounting around Stock/Inventory management. You bring a high level of accuracy, initiative, and professional integrity, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
