Wool store – Entry Level Role
Michell Wool is an icon in Australia's wool history. The current owners are the fifth generation of Michell's to be adding value and creating demand for Australian wool. With processing plants in Adelaide and China, and representatives around the globe, Michell buys and exports 35% of the carding wools produced in Australia.
As the business continues to grow, we are seeking an additional team member to support our operations.
We have an entry level role opening in our Woolstore at Bendigo. This opportunity is perfect for someone keen to establish a lifelong career in the wool industry. If successful, you will have the unique opportunity to be exposed to the wool pipeline within one of the last wool processing companies in Australia.
As an entry level role, you will have the chance to learn all aspects of the wool industry from the ground up in a safe environment. You will be provided with extensive on-the-job training and the opportunity to learn hands-on within the day-to-day operations of the business. Once trained, responsibilities will include:
•Inspection of greasy wool
•Typing wool, including length, colour, evenness, vegetable matter content and strength
•Stacking and sorting wool
•Processing wool to market internally and externally
•Wool pick-ups as required
•Loading and unloading inbound and outbound arrivals and dispatch
•Wool marketing
•Administration (maintaining records)
•Working as part of a supportive team environment
You may not have experience in all aspects of this role; however, a can-do attitude, eagerness to learn, and a genuine interest in the wool industry will be sufficient for you to be considered.
An MR licence is desirable but not essential, and training or support may be provided for the right candidate.
If you are self-motivated, ambitious, hardworking, and a team player willing to learn all about wool, we would like to hear from you.
