You must be experienced in modern, cloud‑native data platforms, including: Azure‑based data and analytics platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric / OneLake) Lakehouse and layered data architectures (bronze / silver / gold) CI/CD, environment separation and automated deployment Secure, policy‑driven access and embedded data governance (Collibra) Our legacy environment is SQL based data warehouse. You will operate in an environment of critical interdependencies: DnA Shift - migration and uplift of enterprise data products onto the modern platform, with a strong emphasis on reuse, quality and sustainability. CSCT - complex system replacement and data migration, including archival, coexistence and re‑integration into enterprise analytics. Growth Transformation - time‑critical delivery of data and insights to support planning, intelligence and decision‑making. Due to the complexity of the delivery environment and the importance of close collaboration resources must be available to work on‑site in Adelaide for 3 days a week. Provide hands‑on architectural leadership to ensure data solutions are fit‑for‑purpose, scalable, secure and aligned to SA Water's target data architecture, while actively supporting the organisation through data and analytics transformation. Define and assure solution‑level data architectures aligned to the enterprise DnA platform. Design pragmatic data patterns for ingestion, modelling, integration and consumption. Ensure alignment between CSCT system changes and DnA enterprise analytics, minimising rework and disruption. Guide data modelling approaches appropriate to analytics, reporting and reuse. Embed governance by design - metadata, lineage, classification, quality and access controls. Actively engage with business, delivery and technology stakeholders to explain architectural decisions and trade‑offs. Identify, articulate and manage architectural risks, dependencies and technical debt. Create an Enterprise Data Model to support EA, Data Governance and projects. Manage transformation and stakeholder expectations Translate complex architectural concepts into clear, business‑relevant language. Support stakeholders through change by setting clear direction and reducing ambiguity. Challenge misaligned requirements and advocate for sustainable, enterprise‑first outcomes.
