Overview
The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures (ARC‐IFC) is a nationally funded research centre led by the University of Queensland. The Centre is a consortium of seven Australian universities including the University of Technology Sydney, the University of Melbourne, the Australian National University, the University of the Sunshine Coast, Charles Darwin University and the University of Western Australia. The Centre is entirely Indigenous‐led and includes 18 Chief Investigators and 5 international Partner Investigators.
This position is based at the ARC‐IFC New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory Node, located at UTS Jumbunna Research, Jumbunna Institute of Indigenous Education and Research.
About the Role
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct research focused on one of the three key themes: Health and Wellbeing, Law and Justice, or Education and Economies. The Fellow will undertake directed research towards defined project objectives, contribute to service and engagement activities within Jumbunna Research, UTS, and the broader community, and participate in the Indigenous Futures Preparation Program and other ARC‐IFC events.
Requirements
* Completion (conferral) or near completion of a PhD in a relevant Theme area.
* Evidence of the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with Aboriginal peoples, their communities and organisations, and key stakeholders.
* A commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sovereignty and Self‐Determination.
* Well‐developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background.
* Experience in policy analysis, theory and case study research relevant to the field.
* Applicants must have current and valid work rights in Australia.
Benefits
* Base salary range: $125,240 to $148,229 per annum (Level B).
* Superannuation: 17 % in addition to the base salary.
* Full‐time position with two appointments available; fixed‐term for 4.5 years (to the end of 2030). A fractional appointment may be considered for the right candidate.
