Plant & Machinery Operator (Civil Construction)
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate plant and machinery for trenching, backfilling and site preparation.
Undertake essential maintenance and pre-start checks on machinery.
Work closely with supervisors and other crew members.
Conduct confined space entry and live sewer work.
Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
Report any equipment issues or incidents to the site supervisor in a timely manner.
Professional Conduct
Be punctual, reliable, and respectful at all times.
Uphold company values in communication, presentation, and work ethic.
Follow all safety procedures, SWMS, and site protocols without exception.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience
Construction White Card
Current driver's licence / HR / HC driver's licence
Excavator and backhoe tickets
Confined Space Entry
First Aid & CPR accredited
Experience with shields and shoring and excavating around inground services
Extensive experience as a Plant Operator in the civil construction industry, with a strong understanding of equipment capabilities and limitations
Willingness to travel and work across Victoria and away work as required
Pre-employment Medical including Drug and Alcohol
Not Essential But Preferred
Ability to install sewer mains
Trench Safety Awareness
Completion of MRWA water pipelaying course
Completion of MRWA sewer pipelaying course
Polywelding certificate
Dogman certificate
Spotter certificate
Note
