Project Manager - Fabrication & Installation
Origin Group (QLD) Pty Ltd is a locally owned engineering company based in Mackay, specialising in fabrication, engineering, mechanical installations, and repairs across industries such as mining, sugar, petrochemical, agriculture, and construction.
With increasing demand for our services, we've recently expanded to a state-of-the-art facility, enabling us to take on larger-scale projects and fabrications.
Origin Group is now seeking a motivated and self-driven Project Managerpreferably with a strong trade background to join our rapidly expanding team.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Management Team, you will be responsible for:
* Managing and growing relationships with new and existing clients.
* Maintaining and developing strong partnerships with suppliers.
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Negotiating with customers and suppliers to meet expectations.
* Providing accurate project estimates and material take-offs.
* Conducting site visits and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Preparing tender proposals and offering project support.
* Actively seeking new business opportunities to contribute to company growth.
While prior experience is preferred, we encourage applications from candidates who may not meet all criteria but are eager to learn—training will be provided for the right candidate.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Strong knowledge of mining industry standards.
* Previous experience in engineering and steel fabrication.
* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
* Mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
* A proactive, customer-focused approach.
