Local Marketing & Engagement Coordinator
Galactic Donuts Rockhampton
Objective
To strengthen local community engagement and drive customer growth through targeted local marketing, relationship building initiatives, and the identification of wholesale opportunities.
Role Overview
The Local Sales and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for connecting with the community, local businesses, schools, and sporting clubs to build awareness, encourage partnerships, increase in store traffic, and support the development of wholesale relationships. This is a hands on, community focused role that blends local outreach with creative marketing execution.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with local schools, sporting clubs, community groups, and potential wholesale customers.
Identify opportunities for wholesale growth and engage with prospective customers to support business expansion.
Develop and execute local promotions, partnerships, and events that drive store visits.
Distribute and manage marketing materials within the community (flyers, posters, vouchers).
Support social media activity with local content ideas and community engagement updates.
Identify local sponsorship or collaboration opportunities aligned with brand objectives.
Track engagement and provide feedback on promotional success and customer response.
Report weekly on activity, customer feedback, and progress toward customer growth targets.
Hours
12 hours per week (flexible – may include occasional weekends or community events).
Goal
Increase weekly customer count through consistent, localised marketing, meaningful community connections, and development of wholesale opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in a sales or marketing role, preferably in the food or hospitality industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
Local resident with strong understanding of the community and area.
