About the role
Our client is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build and operate enterprise‑scale AWS environments. This role will be heavily involved in cloud migration initiatives and ongoing platform operations, requiring strong security and networking expertise. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently and contributing immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and operate AWS cloud infrastructure across multiple environments
Deliver and support large‑scale cloud migration projects (on‑prem to AWS and/or hybrid)
Implement and maintain AWS security best practices, governance controls and guardrails
Collaborate with application, security and network teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve complex AWS infrastructure and networking issues
Drive operational improvements, automation and standardisation across cloud platforms
Provide technical guidance and hands‑on support across delivery teams
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 5 years hands‑on AWS experience across design, build and operations
Strong experience with core AWS services (e.g., VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS)
Broad cloud security knowledge, including identity, network security, encryption and monitoring
Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing)
Proven experience delivering large cloud migration projects
Experience supporting live production environments
Self‑starter mindset with the ability to hit the ground running
Desirable
Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
CI/CD and automation experience (e.g., CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
AWS certifications (Associate or Professional level preferred)
