Job Overview
Location: Broken Hill, NSW. Employment type: Permanent Full Time. Hours per week: 38. Remuneration: $74,317.94 – $138,482 + Superannuation. Position classification can be Psychologist, Social Worker, Welfare Officer or Registered Nurse, depending on qualification and experience. In addition, the position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package of up to $10,000 under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
Responsibilities
* Provide after‐hours mobile care and follow‐up for individuals experiencing or recovering from suicidal distress as part of the Suicide Prevention Outreach team.
* Collaborate with peer workers to deliver crisis response, assertive follow‐up, psychosocial support, safety planning, recovery and wellness planning, individual peer support, advocacy, and coordinated identification of community supports.
* Deliver face‐to‐face and telehealth communication to Broken Hill and surrounding communities of the Far West LHD.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses or Psychologists, or tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers, with a minimum of two years' experience.
* Psychologist year 3 and above; Registered Nurse third year and above; Social Worker level 1, year 3 and above; Welfare Officer level 1, year 3 and above.
* Applied understanding of person‐centred care, trauma‐informed care, recovery, and collaborative respectful working with Aboriginal people.
* Willingness to work shift work, including after‐hours and weekends, as required.
* Demonstrated evidence‐based treatment techniques and assessment for people experiencing distress in a community setting.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficiency in computer skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
