Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Energy Trader
to join a dynamic team responsible for managing trading activities across the NEM. This role will involve developing and executing trading strategies, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring compliance with market regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute short-term and medium-term trading strategies within the NEM.
* Monitor market conditions, price trends, and regulatory changes to identify trading opportunities.
* Optimize the performance of renewable energy assets through effective bidding and dispatch strategies.
* Collaborate with forecasting, operations, and risk management teams to align trading decisions with portfolio objectives.
* Maintain accurate records of trades and ensure compliance with market rules and internal policies.
* Provide insights and reporting on trading performance and market developments.
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in energy trading within the NEM (essential).
* Strong understanding of renewable energy markets and asset optimisation.
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex market data.
* Proficiency in trading systems and tools; advanced Excel or programming skills (Python/R) desirable.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
