CLS is seeking a Full-Time Compliance Officer to become a part our our Bundaberg team.

About the Role

To work collaboratively across Service Delivery and other business units to support all staff in achieving compliance with external legislation and standards, as well as with internal policies and procedures. Delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient services to clients, as well as supporting continuous improvement in the pursuit of departmental compliance and best practice are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

Includes but will not be limited to:

•Conduct inspections in relation to Service Delivery clients and the associated administrative tasks (e.g., scheduling inspections and conducting close-out meetings).

•Ensuring inspections are conducted and completed, reflective of the environment, identify non-conformances, and highlight the requirements to address the non-conformance.

•Effectively communicate the inspection findings to stakeholders, ensuring non-conformance actions are identified, easily understood, and assigned correctly.

•Address any non-conformances during the inspection where practical (e.g., displaying of signage/procedures etc.).

•Report any incidents or hazards identified during an inspection in accordance with the CLS reporting system.

•Recommend improvements to achieve greater compliance, efficiencies, better outcomes for clients and more effective risk management.

•Contribute to inspection continuous improvement and assist with corrective actions.

•Deliver, where appropriate, compliance training for staff (e.g., attending team meetings to discuss compliance matters and toolbox topics).

•Be responsible for the quality, responses, and guidance provided in the inspections in Safety Culture (e.g., photographs and use of naming conventions and inspection completion).

•Be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others in the workplace under the Work Health & Safety Act 2011.

•Complete NDIS Commission reporting requirements in relation to service delivery responsibilities in the absence of the Compliance Manager.

•Undertake other duties and responsibilities as directed by CLS management.

•Reasonably undertake professional development opportunities.

Mandatory Requirements

•Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Business, Risk Management, Compliance, Auditing, or related area.

•Minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role.

•Understanding of current challenges and risks in delivering services to people with disability.

•Excellent organisational, time, task, planning, and priority management.

•Strong attention to detail, data analysis and problem-solving skills.

•Ability to interpret, communicate, and apply the spirit of compliance.

•Interpersonal skills supporting the engagement and influencing of staff at all levels.

•Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop high-quality reports.

•Proven ability to work well as part of an innovative team and independently as required.

•Commitment to and a willingness and ability to promote and apply the mission and values of CLS.

•Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft O365, with the ability to learn and manage IT systems (e.g., Safety Culture, Jira).

•Valid open driver’s license and willingness and ability to drive between Bundaberg & Fraser Coast as well as other locations as required.

•Be eligible for, or hold a current working with Children Blue Card

•Be eligible for, or hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Card

•Completed the mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation module.
