About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Business and a key member of the Leadership Team, the General Manager Finance is the senior finance executive for the business.
This is a hands-on, enterprise leadership role combining disciplined financial stewardship with proactive commercial partnership. The role sits at the centre of decision-making, shaping financial, operational and investment outcomes that underpin the long-term performance of the business.
Accountable for the full finance function, the role also provides leadership across procurement, information, data and business improvement, ensuring these functions operate as integrated enablers of performance, productivity and decision-making.
Operating within a complex, multi-entity and commodity-exposed environment, the role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational engagement, and influence outcomes across a broad stakeholder group including local leadership and global corporate functions.
Key priorities include:
* Lead financial governance, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
* Provide commercial insight to support operational performance, cost discipline and capital allocation decisions
* Partner with operational and commercial leaders to improve productivity, efficiency and financial outcomes
* Lead capital evaluation, investment decision-making and financial risk management
* Oversee commodity exposure, including pricing, hedging, FX and energy-related impacts
* Manage relationships with global group finance, ensuring alignment to reporting, governance and shareholder expectations
* Lead and integrate procurement, IT, data and information functions as key drivers of business performance and productivity
* Drive improvements in systems, reporting, automation and data capability, including major transformation initiatives
* Strengthen financial discipline, decision rights and capital allocation governance across the business
* Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, building capability, accountability and succession depth
The Executive
You are a senior finance executive (CFO / GM Finance) with experience operating in large, complex and asset-intensive environments, ideally across manufacturing, industrial, energy or commodity-exposed businesses.
You hold tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Business, with CA/CPA accreditation. An MBA or demonstrated capability across systems, data, AI-enabled technologies or procurement is beneficial. Exposure to enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, data environments (including data lakehouse architectures) and document management systems would be advantageous
You bring strong commercial instincts and a proven ability to influence business performance, not just report it. Your background includes leading mature finance functions and strengthening insight and decision-making capability, embedding cost and capital discipline at scale, and influencing senior operational and executive leaders.
You have demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams, while also driving improvements across systems, data and business processes. You are comfortable operating at an enterprise level, balancing near-term performance with long-term sustainability, and partnering closely with the Business Head and executive peers on strategy, investment and transformation initiatives.
You are pragmatic, resilient and outcomes-focused, with the ability to “zoom in and zoom out”, engaging in detail where required, while maintaining a clear enterprise perspective.
This role will appeal to a finance leader who enjoys complexity, accountability and influence, and who is motivated by improving performance in a large-scale, regionally significant, asset-intensive business.
