Position Overview
The Head of Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end supply chain function of the business, including procurement, inventory planning, logistics, warehousing, and supplier management.
This role is critical to ensuring products are sourced, stored, and delivered accurately and on time to support installation and service operations nationally.
The Head of Supply Chain will play a pivotal role in building scalable procurement, inventory, and logistics systems to support the growth trajectory of the business. This role will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing supply chain risk, optimising working capital, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain function.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management
* Own all supplier relationships, including negotiation of pricing, commercial terms, and service level agreements
* Develop and execute a procurement strategy aligned to the company’s growth objectives
* Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, reliability, and lead times
* Manage international sourcing, importation, customs, and landed cost considerations where applicable
Inventory & Demand Planning
* Oversee inventory management across all warehouse locations, ensuring stock levels support operational demand while minimising excess inventory
* Implement and maintain effective min/max inventory frameworks, reorder processes, and stock controls
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to forecast demand and align purchasing requirements
* Monitor and report on inventory accuracy, stock ageing and slow-moving inventory
* Improve inventory visibility and reporting to support business decision‑making
* Drive working capital optimisation initiatives across the supply chain function
Logistics & 3PL Management
* Manage all inbound and outbound freight and logistics operations, including relationships with third‑party logistics (3PL) providers
* Ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods to warehouses and installation teams
* Review and renegotiate freight agreements to optimise cost and service levels
Warehouse Operations Oversight
* Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the Warehouse Manager
* Ensure warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch are carried out safely, efficiently, and accurately
* Drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes, systems, and inventory controls
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards and operational procedures
* Support warehouse scalability as the business grows
Supply Chain Systems & Process Improvement
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehouse operations
* Improve ERP and inventory management system utilisation, data integrity, and reporting capabilities
* Develop scalable operational processes and reporting frameworks to support business growth
* Identify opportunities for automation, process efficiency, and operational standardisation
* Implement KPI reporting and performance dashboards across the supply chain function
People Leadership
* Directly manage and develop the Warehouse Manager and Purchasing Officer
* Foster a high‑performance, accountable, and collaborative culture within the supply chain team
* Identify future resourcing requirements and recommend organisational structure improvements as the business scales
* Mentor and develop team capability across procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations
Reporting & Financial Accountability
* Own the supply chain budget and report on procurement, freight, warehousing, and inventory performance
* Provide regular reporting to the COO on supply chain KPIs, risks and operational performance
* Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives across the supply chain functionSupport strategic planning through operational analysis and forecasting
* Monitor and manage supply chain‑related risks impacting business performance
Key Requirements
Experience
* Minimum 7 years’ experience in a senior supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations leadership role
* Experience within a product distribution, construction, manufacturing, or trade‑based business environment
* Proven experience managing freight logistics, 3PL providers, and inventory operations
* Experience managing and developing operational teams
* Strong understanding of international procurement, importation, and supply chain operations highly regarded
* Experience supporting a fast‑growing or scaling business environment preferred
