My client is a very well established, large player in the Oil & Gas industry.
A US listed company, they have been operating for decades and have a global workforce in the thousands.The company has a real focus on developing staff internally. There is a direct line to promotion in the next 2-3 years, as well as numerous opportunities available across Australia & internationally.
Job Description
This role incorporates both hands on duties, as well as managing a team.Key duties include
* Supervising a team of 2-3 Operations Accountants
* Leading the month end & financial close activities
* Develop and oversee complex financial modelling & report development - particularly for bids & tenders
* Review and oversee the budgeting and forecasting process
* Identify and perform ongoing process improvement activities
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have already worked at a Finance Manager / Team Leader level previously and will have managed staff.
You will have:
* Completed your CA/CPA studies
* Experience in supervising a team of accountants
* Strong analytical skills and reporting from an ERP system
* Competent in US GAAP and SOX requirements
* Advanced Excel skills & some modelling exposure
* Experience in Oil & Gas, or a similar heavy industry will be highly regarded
You will have an eye for process improvement & an attitude of continuously questioning processes, with the aim of improving processes where possible.
To note - there will be the occasional need to work weekends over month end (at home is fine), however you will be given days off in return
