The role South East Water is now seeking a professional and highly technical Software Developer to design, develop and/or enhance and deploy complex software applications and solutions using a range of technologies and platforms, such as internal business applications, external customer-facing applications, web solutions, mobile apps, analytics/reporting solutions and others.
The Software Developer will be required to work across multiple groups supporting, improving, developing and enhancing the technologies and platforms whilst working on several concurrent projects and work items. On occasions the role will also provide services for internal customers (and occasionally to other water authorities) to enable them to make the best use of SEW software applications to achieve their business goals.
Reporting into the Developer Lead and armed with strengths in stakeholder management and technical and development skills, the Software Developer will also require skills in solution design. If this sounds like you, then we'd love to hear from you!
Who are you? The following skills, knowledge and experience will ensure the successful candidate can hit the ground running upon commencement:
5+ years' experience in developing applications on top of database solutions using MS-SQL and/or Oracle. Experience in developing solutions based on solid UX/UI specifications. Experience and knowledge in software development practices including SDLC, waterfall and Agile (Scrum and Kanban). Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA. Experience with systems integration, messaging, XML, JSON. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the initiative to proactively resolve issues. Experience in code management and source code branching using Git, GitHub, Team Foundation Server and Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD. This role requires a good understanding of some or all the following applications and languages: - Windows Servers and operational environment
- Web servers (preferably IIS) and application servers
- SQL Server 2022 and/or Oracle 10.
Exposure to integration services such as; ESB, APIs, Boomi, Tibco solutions e.g. BusinessWorks and iProcess. What's in it for you?

South East Water operates a 24/7 service environment. Whilst this role does not involve after-hours rostered duty, all employees may be required to provide out of hours support from time to time as required.
