**Job Title:** Mental Health Advocates
We are seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join our Wellbeing Workforce in Queensland state schools. As a Mental Health Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of students and improving their educational and personal futures.
About the Role:
As a member of our Wellbeing Team, you will be responsible for helping students develop healthy coping mechanisms for managing mental health concerns. You will work closely with school staff to identify and implement strategies that promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
Some key responsibilities include:
* Providing individual and group support to students who require guidance on managing mental health concerns
* Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to develop whole-school approaches to promoting student wellbeing
* Connecting students and families with community resources and services to support their mental health and wellbeing
Key Qualities and Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents. You should also have a sound understanding of child development, mental health principles, and effective strategies for promoting student wellbeing.
You will be passionate about improving the lives of children and believe in the importance of equity and non-pathologizing those in need.
