Job Details
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has a requirement for ICT Project Managers to deliver inflight FY25/26 projects and future initiatives.
Opportunities exist across corporate applications (including Enterprise Resource Planning), infrastructure platforms (including cloud hosting, migration, cyber security, data and analytics), software development, and other ICT-enabled initiatives.
Candidates will require skills and experience in:
* Successful management and delivery of ICT-related projects and/or large corporate ICT transformation programs.
* Ability to adapt to and work across various delivery methodologies (such as Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
* Managing technical teams and partnering with multiple vendors to deliver outcomes under tight timeframes.
* Preparing and presenting reports, artefacts and documentation for Project Boards, Senior Executives and governance bodies.
* High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present and communicate information and expectations at all levels.
* Personal resilience and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities in a challenging environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Manage the delivery of departmental project(s) in accordance with departmental project management methodologies (including PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe, and hybrid approaches).
* Provide guidance and leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, third-party vendors and other departmental teams.
* Undertake project governance activities including, but not limited to:
o Project initiation and closure
o Scope, schedule and delivery timeframe management
o Reporting and presenting to Senior Executives, Program/Project Boards and governance bodies
o Budget and financial management and reporting
o Active management of risks and issues
* Provide delivery capability across broader programs of work as directed by the department and/or the Project Management Office.
