About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our growing team. This position involves conducting feature and topographic surveys, establishing control networks, and performing 3D laser scanning using Trimble technology.
You will also be responsible for processing survey data and point clouds, with strong preference for candidates experienced in AutoCAD and Revit. The role is based at our Clayton office, with regular travel to metropolitan and regional project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct accurate feature and topographic surveys using Trimble total stations, GNSS, and 3D laser scanners
Establish, verify, and maintain high-precision control networks
Complete survey setouts for construction and design
Perform 3D laser scanning and capture high-resolution spatial data
Process field data, including registration, alignment, and cleaning of point clouds
Produce detailed 2D plans and 3D models
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to integrate survey outputs into project workflows
Maintain survey equipment and ensure correct calibration
Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards across all site and office activities
Key Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
* Proven experience with Trimble hardware and software (e.g., Trimble Business Center, RealWorks)
* Strong competency in managing and processing point cloud data
* Solid understanding of survey control principles and geodetic systems
* Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is highly desirable
* Ability to interpret technical plans and produce high-quality documentation
* Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Must provide own vehicle for travel to metro and regional project sites — vehicle allowance provided
* Willingness to travel regularly to project locations
* Current driver's licence
