Join McNab as Senior Bid Writer and play a pivotal role in creating winning tender and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) submissions.
Senior Bid Writer
Are you a natural storyteller with a sharp eye for structure and detail? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment, transforming technical content into compelling, client-focused proposals? We are looking for a Senior Bid Writer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in creating winning tender and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) submissions.
About the Role
As a Senior Bid Writer, you will partner with our Bid & Estimating Team, as well as experts across our design, construction, and development teams. This role is central to our business development strategy and requires someone who can craft well-structured, persuasive submissions that align with client expectations and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the creation of tender and ECI submissions, leveraging our extensive project library and collaborating with subject matter experts to extract and translate technical content into engaging written responses.
* Write high-quality content tailored to each bid, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with both tender requirements and company objectives.
* Edit and proofread bid documents for clarity, consistency, and compliance with client specifications.
* Manage bid writing through the entire lifecycle—from pre-qualification and submission to post-bid support activities.
* Conduct in-depth research on project requirements and industry trends to strengthen our proposal strategy.
* Maintain a bid tracking system to monitor submissions and support timely delivery of all proposal-related activities.
* Foster collaboration between internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure a cohesive, high-performing bid team.
* Contribute to the preparation of presentations and marketing materials that highlight our unique value proposition and capabilities.
About you
* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or similar (or equivalent experience).
* Solid experience in bid writing, preferably within government construction, infrastructure, or development sectors.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. Must be advanced in MS Word. Knowledge of InDesign is desirable, but not necessary.
* Ability to understand and convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to work on multiple bids simultaneously.
* A proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience in using tender and document management platforms is advantageous.
