Business Analyst – Operational Readiness / Service Transition 6 month contract $1050 per day inc super (Neg) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a critical Service Transition project within a government organisation. This role will be instrumental in ensuring successful operational readiness, process design, and transition of new or changed services into steady-state support. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in service transition, ITIL frameworks, and BPMN process modelling. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, service delivery, infrastructure, and operations to ensure services are designed, tested, and handed over to operations in a seamless and sustainable way. Key Responsibilities Position-Specific Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and document readiness gaps across people, process, and technology. Elicit and document business and operational requirements to support effective BAU capability at go-live. Facilitate workshops to validate SOPs, SLAs, RACI models, escalation procedures, and operational requirements. Contribute to development of operational use cases, service scenarios, and rehearsal testing plans. Analyse and map current and future state operational workflows to support seamless service transition. Develop and validate business readiness checklists, vendor maturity assessments, and operational success criteria. Data & Insights Define key operational metrics, KPIs, and reporting needs to support post-implementation performance monitoring. Translate RTO/RPO requirements into actionable reporting and tracking for BAU teams. Change & Operational Support Partner with Change Managers to identify and document operational impacts across business units. Identify training, documentation, and communications required to support service handover and operational continuity. Track and report on readiness activities and their alignment with project milestones and transition gates. Compliance, Systems & Reporting Ensure business analysis aligns to Airservices Australia standards and industry best practice. Conduct stakeholder engagement to understand business needs and priorities related to project delivery. Maintain requirements traceability using standard tools and frameworks. Monitor work package delivery, report on risks/issues, and provide clear documentation outlining outcomes, tools, and processes for successful transition. Key Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting operational readiness, service transition, or large-scale technology implementations. Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and operational audiences. Demonstrated ability to document business requirements, SOPs, SLAs, and transition artefacts in complex IT environments. Experience mapping workflows and developing use cases for testing and validation. Familiarity with operational metrics, compliance frameworks, and BAU support planning. Comfortable working in agile or hybrid delivery models with strong documentation and reporting skills.
