Cessnock Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Administration Officer (Ward Clerk) to join our Medical Ward team. This is your chance to be part of a supportive, patient-focused environment while building your career in hospital administration.
Step into the Role
As a Ward Clerk, you will work closely with nursing staff and other hospital departments to provide efficient administrative support, keep the Ward running smoothly and ensure every patient receives excellent care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Registering patients and maintaining accurate data entry
- Coordinating patient discharges
- Supporting nursing staff with administrative duties
- Providing friendly, professional customer service to patients, families, and staff
Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in the role.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and ready to learn. Our ideal candidate will:
- Thrive in a busy environment with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively
- Work well independently and as part of a team, bringing strong customer service skills to every interaction
- Experience in healthcare administration is a plus, but transferable skills from customer service environments are welcome
- Available to work Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (some flexibility available)
