**Job Description:**
This role involves providing high-quality patient care and support within a purpose-built surgical unit. You will be working under the supervision of a Nurse Unit Manager and will be responsible for assisting in the provision of exceptional care to patients, their families, and fellow employees.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Specialize in the treatment and education of patients, employees, and their families with regard to treatment protocols.
* Ensure that all direct clinical nursing care is undertaken during your shift with regular critical communication between you and your colleagues.
* Optimize patient care through active participation in patient safety processes.
* Demonstrate the ability to conduct nursing practice in a manner that respects the rights of individuals and groups in accordance with relevant standards, regulations, and legislation.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A current registration with AHPRA;
* Experience working within HDU/surgical environments, with HDU experience being desirable but not essential;
* Well-developed leadership skills within a team environment;
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
* Flexibility and availability to work all shifts on a rotating roster.
