CSSD Technician Role
The primary function of the CSSD Technician is to provide a high standard of preparation and sterilization services to support the clinical teams.
The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and sterilizing equipment and instruments for surgical procedures
* Assisting perioperative teams with clinical care under the direction of Registered Nurses
* Applying cleaning methods, disinfecting agents, and procedures on surgical instrumentation
* Processing equipment for external sterilizing units as required
* Maintaining knowledge of surgical instruments and packaging techniques
* Conducting sterilization procedures according to accepted methods and principles
* Storing sterilized items appropriately to maintain sterility and efficiency
* Performing duties within the scope of practice according to clinical standards and regulations
