Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation
Sutbul House is an all-you-can-eat Authentic Charcoal Korean Barbecue restaurant located in Glen Osmond, SA. We specialise in premium charcoal barbecue dining, alongside a wide range of traditional Korean hot dishes.
As our menu and operations continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Korean barbecue dishes and traditional Korean hot dishes.
* Prepare and marinate meats (e.g. bulgogi, galbi), stews (jjigae), soups, banchan and specialty sauces in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
* Oversee charcoal grilling techniques, ensuring appropriate heat control, meat preparation standards and food safety compliance for tabletop barbecue service.
* Design and update menus to maintain authenticity, presentation quality and seasonal ingredient availability.
* Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, portion control and quality presentation.
* Order and inspect meat, seafood, vegetables and specialty Korean ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
* Estimate food and labour costs and assist in managing kitchen budgets and stock control.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff in Korean cooking techniques, charcoal grilling methods and food safety standards.
* Ensure compliance with Australian food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including charcoal grilling stations and preparation areas.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
* At least one (1) year of relevant experience as a Chef in a Korean cuisine or similar restaurant environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of authentic Korean cooking techniques and charcoal barbecue preparation.
* Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen management practices.
