Let's talk about this role

As the Group Communications Manager, you will help manage the external communications for nib Group, including its health, travel, and NDIS businesses in Australia and New Zealand. You will also be responsible for helping draft some member, stakeholder, and government communications.

You will manage nib's proactive and reactive media and public relations activities, and limited social media. The Group Communications Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop proactive media opportunities and will work directly with journalists and nib's external agencies to secure earned media coverage.

In addition, you will find news angles and interpret trends to support nib's Payer to Partner strategy; support executives in media interviews, find speaking opportunities and events, and provide strategic advice and expertise for reputational issues while closely monitoring external events or issues.

Let's talk about you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in Corporate Communications or Public Relations. A keen sense of news is crucial, alongside an understanding of news cycles and the way newsrooms operate, key reporters and their rounds.

Furthermore, we're looking for:
- Demonstrated knowledge of PR campaigns and strategies- First class organisational, presentation and communication skills- Degree in Communications, Law or similar
