About You
Treasury is looking for a Graduate Financial Analyst to undertake a range of financial management tasks related to accounting, budgeting and financial and statistical reporting while completing post-graduate accounting studies.
You will develop your accounting and financial analysis skills while rotating between Treasury’s Budget Management Branch and Government, Finance and Accounting Branch over a three-year period.
Graduate Financial Analysts are expected to undertake studies to complete the CPA Australia or CA ANZ postgraduate program, and as a minimum standard, pass exams and make good progress towards the completion of the relevant program.
Successful applicants for this position will hold a recent degree with a major in accounting that enables direct entry into postgraduate accounting studies with CPA Australia and CA ANZ. Refer to the Advice to Applicants for more information about eligibility.
Ideally you will have:
* sound financial analysis and accounting skills;
* the ability to understand:
o complex operational issues and identify possible solutions with good judgement; and
o the broader operating environment and its implications for the tasks being undertaken; and
* the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders and prepare accurate documentation.

About Treasury’s Finance Graduate Program
Treasury’s Finance Graduate Program provides an opportunity to develop practical accounting and finance skills and to become a qualified accountant while working in a central Government agency.
We aim to recruit business/finance graduates who wish to pursue a career in government and have recently completed, or are about to complete, a suitable business/finance degree and are intending to undertake professional accountancy qualifications - the Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand postgraduate program.
