About the university

About the school

The School of Medicine offers a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that is fully accredited by the Australian Medical Council and is highly ranked by graduates in national surveys. Key features include a focus on small group teaching and problem-based learning, combined with rich clinical experiences across the entire program.


About the role

The School of Medicine seeks a Senior Lecturer to join the Wagga Wagga Clinical School. Reporting to the Head of Clinical School, Wagga Wagga, the role will provide leadership in clinical teaching, research, and academic activities.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide academic leadership in the design, coordination, and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, practicals, workshops, clinical/studio sessions, and field excursions.
* Lead curriculum development and unit coordination to ensure high‑quality learning outcomes.
* Supervise and mentor honours, postgraduate coursework, and higher degree research students.
* Conduct and lead research programs, making significant contributions through publications, grants, and collaborative projects.
* Lead and participate in professional and scholarly activities relevant to the discipline.
* Provide academic leadership in student consultation, assessment, and moderation.
* Undertake significant administrative responsibilities, including leadership roles on committees and contribution to strategic planning at school and faculty levels.


Qualifications, skills & experience

* Possession of a Medical qualification.
* Registered with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional body or significant progress towards it.
* Experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level or higher in medical, health or professional practice‑based education settings.
* Demonstrated scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant field.
* Proven teaching experience at tertiary level, including curriculum development and delivery.
* Demonstrated research experience and outputs, including scholarly publications and/or creative or professional practice.
* Relevant professional, technical, or industry experience, including experience outside the tertiary education sector where applicable.
* Understanding of the Objects of the University and its Values in the provision of medical education within the context of Catholic Healthcare and University Education.
