Finance Officer – Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools
A full‐time permanent position responsible for providing high‐quality and timely financial and payroll services to Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools (ACCS). The role works closely with school principals, the ACCS Finance Manager and internal stakeholders to support effective financial operations, accurate reporting, and strong financial governance across schools.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist principals and the ACCS Finance Manager with the preparation of annual and forward budgets, and provide regular reporting against budgets.
* Process purchase orders, accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
* Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, school‐based staff and Catholic Education Office employees.
* Reconcile bank accounts and ledger accounts, ensuring accurate coding of transactions.
* Maintain asset registers, including recording acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
* Prepare month‐end reconciliations and financial workbooks.
* Monitor school cash‐flow requirements and emerging financial needs.
* Provide periodic financial reports and assist with financial queries and analysis.
* Prepare school ledgers for audit and respond to audit queries.
* Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
* Provide relief support to finance staff across the office and schools as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, policies and procedures.
* Travel to remote communities as required.
* Assist with finance projects and other duties as directed.

* Holds a tertiary qualification in accounting.
* Demonstrates experience in financial and accounting operations.
* Has the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Demonstrates well‐developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Works collaboratively as part of a team.
