About the role
Little Pioneers Early Learning Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Centre Cook to join our team on a part-time basis in Coffs Harbour, NSW. As a Centre Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care, ensuring they receive the highest quality food to support their growth and development.
What you'll be doing
1. Plan, prepare and cook a variety of healthy, balanced meals and snacks for 29 children per day
2. Ensure all meals meet the dietary requirements and preferences of the children
3. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
4. Collaborate with the Centre Director and Educators to develop the menu and incorporate feedback from families
5. Assist with ordering, receiving and storing of food and kitchen supplies
6. Support the Centre's sustainability initiatives by minimising food waste
What we're looking for
1. Completion of a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
2. Hold a valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
3. Relevant experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a childcare or education setting
4. Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety and hygiene practices
5. Strong knowledge of cooking and preparing food for children with allergies, dietary requirements and cultural differences.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with the Centre team and communicate effectively with families
7. Passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children
8. Excellent time management and organisational skills
9. The ability to work 5 days a week for 5-6hours per day.
