Elements of Byron is an award-winning Beach front resort, nestled on 50 acres of absolute beach front paradise in Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers of NSW.* We have a permanent part time, 3 days a week opportunity available for a experienced Handyperson to join our team*. This varied role requires you to maintain the resort building, plant & equipment, fixtures and fittings to the required standard, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees.
**We have two part time roles available, the days of week would be either, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Hours are 9am - 6pm.**
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. You must have solid technical knowledge, manual dexterity and physical stamina.
You will be responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs throughout the resort in a manner that does not disturb guests. This includes:
- Basic plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, pool and spa maintenance
- Servicing of plant and general equipment as directed
- Acting fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages)
- Assisting other team members in the completion of their duties
- Assist with inventory of equipment, tools, spare parts and hardware supplies
- Ensuring all painted areas are maintained and in good order

Requirements*
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry experience is a plus
- This role requires you to work rostered shifts which may include early morning starts, late night finishes and weekend work
- Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Trade qualification highly regarded
- Current and valid drivers licence
- Strong work ethic
- Actively demonstrate pride in your work
- Excellent customer service skills including fluent written and spoken English
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to resolve issues
- The ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment
