An opportunity
There is an opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join this company on a 9-month contract, working FIFO on a 2:1 roster, embedding with the client for a processing plant upgrade project valued over $1B.
The job
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will represent this company and assist the client with ongoing construction works in a design & construct environment.
1. Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations
2. Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
3. Preparing and reviewing data sheets, scopes, and tender evaluations for equipment procurement
4. Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards
5. Ensuring designs are fit for purpose, considering cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability
You will need
1. Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
2. Experience with base, precious, or rare earth minerals
3. Mineral processing plant experience within a design & construct environment
4. Strong technical experience
5. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
You will get
1. Hourly rate up to $120/hr + Superannuation
2. 2:1 FIFO roster, 11-hour days
3. Ongoing 9-month contract with potential for extension
