About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Application Developer to join our Hunter Class Program based in Adelaide, SA, reporting to the Web Applications Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working. This role can also be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns, or Perth.
As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for assisting in the technical lifecycle of systems developed within the IT environment. Systems may relate to new capability development, software applications, or infrastructure services that are managed to provide a cost-effective solution to the business or customer.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Exposure to error management and debugging techniques using SQL/Developer integration, and consumption of web services using APEX declarative framework.
2. Create database applications for both desktop and mobile interfaces. Add various components like new pages, reports, regions, items, and other components required to enhance an application.
3. Must have worked with Oracle RDBMS; should be comfortable with SQL, PL/SQL, and developing various database objects like Triggers, Stored procedures, Functions, Sequences, Views, etc.
4. IM&T and the wider Hunter Class Frigate programme team will operate as 'One Team' across multiple time zones. Flexibility with start and finish times and frequent early morning and evening meetings will be required.
5. Hunter Class Frigate programme mobilisation is a multiyear programme with hard deadlines. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines is essential.
6. IM&T will provide solutions in an evolving environment, working with uncertainty and handling risk while remaining outcome-focused.
About YOU
* Experience in a customer-facing role such as helpdesk or consulting is desirable.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven expertise in Oracle Application Express.
* Defense security clearance or eligibility to obtain Baseline Clearance.
