Your new role
As an APS6 Claims Officer, you will manage a portfolio of complex and high-impact claims. This includes matters defined as significant claims under the Legal Services Directions 2017, many of which involve sensitive issues.
In this role, you will:
1. Lead the end-to-end management of intricate claims and provide clear, well-reasoned advice.
2. Identify legal and policy risks and brief senior executives and stakeholders effectively.
3. Build and maintain relationships across government and with external service providers.
4. Support and guide team members through strong leadership and people management capability.
5. Contribute to strategic thinking, risk management and broader team initiatives.
6. Navigate sensitive, emotionally confronting or complex material with discretion and professionalism.

What you'll need to succeed

A baseline clearance as well as experience as an APS6 in the Australian Public Service is required for this position.
