Workplace Health Safety Compliance and Environment Manager
The Workplace Health Safety Compliance and Environment Manager is a critical role that delivers work, health, safety and wellbeing services, and compliance and environment advice and solutions.
* Deliver work, health, safety and wellbeing services, and compliance and environment advice and solutions to enable positive people and organisational outcomes.
* Oversee and ensure compliance with Company Quality and Safety Management Systems by conducting regular audits, implementing corrective actions, developing or updating policy and procedure, and monitoring reporting mechanisms.
* Lead Omni-wide safety initiatives by conducting quarterly HSR and Environment meetings, managing resources, facilitating employee engagement, and maintaining a safe work environment in line with WHS regulations.
This position will also be responsible for:
* Monitoring and maintaining adherence to state and regulatory requirements, while keeping the Accountable Managers informed of any unresolved discrepancies.
* Developing, implementing, and assessing the effectiveness of quality audit programs, emergency procedures, and WHS and Environment systems to drive continuous improvement.
* Facilitating cross-functional collaboration and ensuring access to information and support to enhance employee wellbeing, engagement, and performance.
* Implementing and managing Omni's return-to-work program, supporting workers during recovery, assisting with compensation claims, and ensuring employer compliance with workers' compensation legislation.
* Holding employees accountable for maintaining safety standards and contributing to external audits and safety meetings.
* Providing direction, guidance, advice and mentoring to employees allocated WHS, Wellbeing and/or other types of governance appointments, and ensuring positions are backfilled in cases of employees going on long leave or resigning.
* Scheduling and overseeing the conduct of governance training sessions for employees identified for governance appointments.
A high degree of integrity and a commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive information is required, as well as exceptional organisational and time management skills, the ability to work independently and meet objectives and targets for clients, high level technical writing skills, and a strong commitment to upholding Omni's values and ethical standards.
