Role Description
This is a casual/part‐time, on‐site role for a Disability Support Worker in Salamander Bay, NSW. The role involves supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives to enhance their independence and overall quality of life. Responsibilities include providing personal care, assistance with social and community activities, and ensuring participants' safety and well‐being at all times. Workers are also expected to uphold safeguarding practices and effectively communicate with participants' and their families to provide tailored services.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in support work and knowledge of disability services.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with participants.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to ensuring participants' safety and dignity.
* Strong communication skills to effectively work with participants, families, and team members.
* Technical competence, including familiarity with assistive technologies and ability to follow care plans.
* Relevant certifications, such as First Aid, CPR, and NDIS Worker Screening and Orientation Module completion.
* A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are highly preferred.
* Empathy, patience, and the ability to maintain professionalism in diverse situations.
