The Opportunity
Patten Pavement Services (PPS) is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Foreman to join our growing Civil Division. This hands-on leadership role offers the chance to work across a variety of civil infrastructure projects for local councils, developers, and private sector clients.
You'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard by leading a small team of operators and labourers, managing subcontractors, and coordinating equipment and materials across sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid civil experience and a strong work ethic to step into a leadership position within a supportive and growing business.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and supervising civil crews to complete projects on time and to spec
* Conducting Tool box meetings
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with PPS policies and procedures
* Planning daily activities and effectively coordinating plant, labour, and materials
* Working closely with Project Managers and the Civil Supervisor to meet targets
* Identifying and addressing any issues or delays onsite
* Mentoring and supporting the ongoing development of team members
* Completing basic site administration and reporting as required
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years' experience in civil construction
* Prior experience as a Leading Hand or Foreman
* Competence in earthworks, roadworks, concrete works, pipe laying, and drainage
* Full current Driver's Licence
* Construction Induction (White Card)
* Ability to lead by example and maintain a strong safety culture
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Experience managing small teams and subcontractors
* Basic computer/smartphone skills for job reporting and communication
* Reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic
