About the role

As Sous Chef at Miki's Open Kitchen in the beautiful town of Margaret River, WA, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations in an open-plan restaurant. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen team when required and ensuring the delivery of our exceptional dining experiences. This full-time role offers competitive pay and the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in an innovative, open-kitchen environment. Working hours are in the afternoon to late night, Tuesday to Saturday.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and adequate kitchen preparation.
2. Collaborate with the kitchen team, with instruction from the head chef to deliver the menu to the expected high standard, incorporating seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients
3. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and health regulations
4. Contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience as a sous chef or chef de partie.
2. The scope and patience to learn the fine details of what is required to deliver our one of a kind dining experience.
3. Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the ability to learn quickly, maintaining a positive attitude.
4. Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients to create authentic dishes
5. Commitment to upholding high standards and existing procedures, including of food prep, storage, safety and hygiene
6. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
