The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, the Finance Manager will be involved in V-DAQ's end-to-end financial operations, from day-to-day administration to strategic financial projects. The ideal candidate will be capable of growing with V-DAQ to meet its expanding needs and ambitions but with a core focus on delivering on the fundamentals. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment and aims to deliver the highest quality work.
Responsibilities
* Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
* Manage tax compliance obligations, including BAS, PAYG, and related lodgements
* Lead End of Financial Year (EOFY) procedures and audit preparation
* Manage payroll and superannuation compliance
* Support and deliver internal financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
* Oversee grants and government incentive applications and compliance, in collaboration with external grant specialists
* Manage procurement policies and supplier/vendor processes
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial systems and processes
* Lead financial projects and initiatives
Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or CA preferred)
* 5+ years of experience across accounting, internal finance, or finance management roles
* Strong knowledge and understanding of Australian financial law and compliance
* Experienced in financial software and tools
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
* Desired: Experience working in scaling organisations
* Desired: Experience working in an engineering, technology or scientific industry/company
