About the Role
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Arthroplasty and Sports Knee fellowship trained) based in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. The role involves providing a specialist elective and trauma knee service including primary and revision knee arthroplasty, soft‐tissue sports knee procedures, and general orthopaedic trauma management. Additional duties include elective operating, general and specialist trauma operating, elective and fracture clinics, teaching the AOA trainee and other junior doctors, and contributing to audit, morbidity‐and‐mortality reviews and departmental research.

Requirements
Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent overseas surgeon who has completed training in the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABS‐certified), or New Zealand.
Consultant orthopaedic surgeons should hold a fellowship in arthroplasty and sports knee or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305‐bed facility and the main referral hospital for Central Queensland.
