Quality Assurance Engineer – Westpac Group
Overview
Permanent, full‑time role based in Sydney with hybrid working (three days in the office). You'll be part of the team behind the Westpac App and digital banking platforms, helping deliver new features, smoother experiences and high‑quality releases for millions of customers. You'll work closely with engineers, product teams and stakeholders to ensure every update is stable, secure and customer‑ready.
Responsibilities
As a QA Lead Engineer you will:
* Plan, design and execute manual and automated tests across the application.
* Coordinate with product, engineering and support teams to define test coverage and quality goals.
* Identify, document and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.
* Lead testing activities within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning and reporting.
* Advise on quality considerations such as performance, security, accessibility and operational readiness.
* Build strong working relationships with multiple technical teams.
Qualifications
Must have:
* Strong QA skills in both manual and automation testing.
* Experience with test planning, agile workflows and reporting.
* Knowledge of performance, security, accessibility and operational readiness.
* Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, AppDynamics, Splunk, debugging tools and automation frameworks.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
