Dynamic Library Leader
We are seeking a visionary Director of Library and Information Services to spearhead our School's library operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader to drive innovation, inspire learning, and foster excellence in teaching.
The successful candidate will deliver cutting-edge library services, conduct research, curate collections, and maintain archives and library spaces to create an optimal learning environment. They will also lead the Library staff, providing vision and purpose that aligns with our School's culture and ethics.
This role requires extensive knowledge of contemporary library services, enabling the development and implementation of strategic plans underpinned by our School's teaching strategies. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a learning environment that promotes deep learning and excellence in teaching.
About the Role
* School Library Leadership: Strategic and operational leadership of the School Library, including delivery of innovative student and teacher-focused library services
* Research and Collections: Conducting research, curating collections, and maintaining archives and library spaces to enable exceptional learning and teaching
* Library Staff Management: Leading the Library staff, providing vision and purpose that aligns with the School's culture and ethics
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary Qualifications: Master's degree in library and information science or related field
* Teaching Qualifications: Relevant teaching qualifications
* Professional Membership: Professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
* Leadership and Collaborative Skills: Strong leadership and collaborative skills, with a commitment to maintaining a high-performing school culture
* Queensland College of Teachers Registration: Eligibility for Queensland College of Teachers registration
