Financial Analyst
Location: Parramatta / Hybrid
Employment type: Ongoing Full Time
Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 to $125,720 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
You will support the Business Partner team in delivering the strategic finance oversight of a Division of DCJ. The role will provide an interface between the business operations and the central Finance team and other interested parties, including Treasury, and will provide relevant financial advice that enables senior staff to make decisions regarding operations.
What you'll do
As part of the Finance Business Partners team within Finance and Procurement Division, you will provide support in delivering strategic, tactical and operational financial advice to Divisional executives and assist, and provide analysis, in the preparation of high quality, timely financial reporting. Also, you will develop ground up budgets, working with the Business Partner Director and Divisional executives.
In addition, you will:
* Provide support in delivering strategic, tactical, and operational financial advice
* Collaborate with people across the business requiring high level financial analysis
* Assist, and provide analysis, in the preparation of high quality, timely financial reporting
* Develop ground up budgets
* Engage with key stakeholders to provide coaching and technical advice
* Identify and report pressures on Divisional budgets
* Provide financial analysis and advice regarding the impacts arising from Divisional initiatives
The Finance Business Partner team is part of the Strategic Finance Branch. We are a diverse, inclusive team that embodies the values of DCJ. The FBP team enables the delivery of the DCJ, Premier, State, and organisational outcomes by providing excellent financial advice and analysis.
Essential requirements of the role
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline, and working towards or qualified CPA/CA.

In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate will work with various professionals within the finance team to provide analysis and insights to various stakeholders within the business under tight time pressures.
Strong data analysis and all-round financial accounting expertise.
* Solid presentation skills to engage an audience of varied seniority
* Strong relationship building capabilities
* Ability to provide strategic analysis and opinions within a dynamic team environment
* Strong communication skills - able to communicate effectively key messages with stakeholders, have an adaptive style and influence outcomes
* Prioritise team efforts to support business requirements
* Experience working with SAP, Excel, and exposure to business intelligence tools.
