Job Description
We are currently looking for a skilled and dynamic Re-Conditioning Manager to oversee the entire process for our used vehicles. You will ensure each vehicle meets our high-quality standards before sale. This role requires strong leadership and organisational skills to manage technicians, coordinate with vendors, and adhere to timelines for an efficient workflow. Responsibilities include:
* Develop and implement workflows to ensure timely and cost-effective reconditioning.
* Work closely with technicians, detailers, and vendors to ensure quality repairs and detailing.
* Maintain a reconditioning pipeline, prioritising based on sales demand.
* Ensure vehicles meet dealership quality standards before sale.
* Coordinate with sales and inventory teams for timely vehicle availability.
* Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party vendors.
* Monitor costs and adhere to budgets without compromising quality.
* Review and approve repair orders for necessity and efficiency.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or safety.
* Conduct final inspections to meet dealership and customer expectations.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturer standards.
* Maintain documentation of all reconditioning work.
* Address quality concerns before vehicles are placed at site.
* Supervise and lead technicians, detailers, and other staff.
* Provide training and guidance to team members.
* Monitor team performance and provide feedback.
* Foster a positive work environment encouraging teamwork.
* Track and report KPIs like cycle time, costs, and inventory readiness.
* Provide updates to management on progress and challenges.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3-5 years in automotive service, reconditioning, or fixed operations.
* Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of vehicle repairs, bodywork, detailing, and reconditioning processes.
* Ability to multitask and manage timelines effectively.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Experience with dealership management software and inventory tools.
* Automotive credentials such as ASE Certification.
* Experience with auction and trade-in inspections.
* Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undergo a Police Clearance.
