Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical exercise physiology services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Code of Skilled Conduct and Ethical Practice and SJGHC policies and guidelines.
The Position
- Demonstrated ability to prescribe, deliver and supervise individual and group remedial and maintenance exercise programs for patients attending the service, including but not limited to gym and/or hydrotherapy.
- Contributes to the delivery of high quality, compassionate, safe clinical services within a range of settings i.e. Inpatient, Outpatient, or home/community-based settings.
- Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
- Develop appropriate treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients in collaboration with other team members.
- Active participation in the multidisciplinary team.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science or similar and you will be eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
To succeed you will have experience in assessment, exercise prescription, monitoring and progressions for special population using evidence-based practices in therapy (e.g. Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiac and metabolic conditions).
