What are we looking for?
We are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic and driven law students to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist practice area while developing your technical and commercial skills.
To Be Considered For This Role, You Will Be/have
- A law student graduating this year or later
- Availability to work two consecutive days per week, commencing within the next two months
- Achieved strong academic results
- Highly refined analytical and research skills
- Motivated, commercially astute and a team player who learns quickly
- A genuine interest in tax law, with a view to developing expertise in this area
As part of the team, you will also join our Tax Academy Program, a structured development pathway designed to support your technical growth and career progression in tax.
What is the role?
A law clerk role with Cowell Clarke offers comprehensive training, with the aim of supporting undergraduates to ultimately become commercial solicitors with a solid specialisation in tax and revenue law.
Some Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Legal research
- Reviewing, analysing and summarising documentation
- Drafting legal correspondence and advice
- Attending client meetings and video conferences
- Collaborating with the team on technical issues
- Attending networking events
What To Expect
In joining our leading Tax & Revenue team you will be provided with one-on-one training and supervision by highly experienced tax practitioners. In addition to gaining broad tax and commercial experience you will also work with self-managed superannuation fund trustees and assist high net worth clients with sophisticated succession planning strategies.
