Our client is currently seeking a Senior Data and Insights Engineer to supplement the internal capability of the organisation and join their Central Historian Project. The objective of the project is to automatically capture, store and provide all time-series data from all sites into a central location for seamless consumption by operations, asset management and users
As the Senior Data and Insights Engineer, you will lead and support the management of the organisation's Enterprise Historian and provide strategic advice and support for the management of other data management systems. You will lead data integration from multiple systems for the effective utilisation of data and develop continuous improvement of data driven decision support tools.
What you will do:
* Translate Platform owner priorities into analytics roadmaps
* Manage data governance, quality and lifecycle management
* Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs for asset performance
* Identify trends, risks and opportunities across treatment sites and assets
* Support decision-making with predictive and prescriptive analytics
* Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Asset Management and Digital teams
* Act as the data liaison between business units and data teams
* Leam/ support advanced analytics and AI/ML activities
* Ensure analytics solutions are embedded within operational platforms
* Work with IT and platform architects to align data infrastructure
* Ensure data practices comply with regulatory and privacy standards
* Support incident response and operational risk analysis using data
* Ensure integrity and governance of data by developing and implementing data management processes, work procedures and practices.
What you'll bring to the role:
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant science or engineering discipline with significant demonstrated experience
* University Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
* AVEVA PI Historian system certification or experience as a Super User or administrator
* Experience in performance optimisation activities across queries, scripts, ETL/ELT pipelines and process workflows
* Strong background experience in data engineering and analytics
* Proficiency in Python, R, and libraries like Pandas, NumPy and SciPy
* Experience using standard frameworks for model development such as TesorFlow and scikit-learn
* Experience with emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning
* Experience in statistical analysis techniques and quality assurance systems is essential for this role
* Experience in water utilities, infrastructure or asset intensive industries
* A current unrestricted driver's licence for a motor vehicle
